Customer Reviews

Best I've tried This is very well built, doesn't feel cheap or flimsy. Once I set a stop, it stays. There doesn't seem to me any real notable loss in picture quality, even at stronger levels. I haven't had any ghosting or 'X' defects at all with this filter used on my Canon wide or Tele lenses. A solid filter to have in your bag. 5It does what it's supposed to do very well I gambled when I purchased this after my just-a-few-days-old B+W 82mm ND 3.0-1,000X with Single Coating (110) fell off a bridge in Yosemite National Park, which damaged the threading and caused it to get stuck to a step-up filter. When I noticed that this product was being shipped from Albania, I immediately felt like I made a mistake. It took about three weeks to arrive (buyer beware), but now that I've had a chance to use it, I am completely pleased with it.Images taken with this filter are just as sharp as those taken with the $160 B+W filter, and unlike with that filter, this much cheaper filter doesn't introduce any color casting. I have attached three images, all taken at f6.3, ISO 100 on a 5DmIII with a 70-200 f/2.8L IS II. Each image is a RAW straight off the camera with no edits. The first is a 20 second exposure with the Zomei filter. The second is a 20 second exposure with the B+W filter. The third is a 1/60 second exposure with no filter. If you pixel peep, this filter does degrade sharpness, but no more than the B+W filter does, and it doesn't introduce any noticeable color casting.Excellent filter with an excellent price point. 5DOES NOT WORK ON TELEPHOTO LENSES When using telephoto lenses I noticed that the image would be too soft. I am using a 70-200mm F2.8 for the test.In the images you'll see the difference. Photo on the left is with the filter, photo on the right is without the filter. 1Great buy! Great piece for this price!! I like that it's not a bulky thick piece! It's nice and slim and easy to twist on and off with a good grip on the rim. Packaging is amazing as it comes in this little cushioned box not like other ones that come in a hard plastic!! Over all it's a great product!! 5Works great I used this on a Canon T3i and a Canon 80D and it worked really well. 5Great Value, Well made, works beautifully, for the money it is impossible to get another of this quality. 5This is the way to go After years of shooting the milky way, I have decided to try my hand at long exposures for sunsets. Being that this was a new area for me, I thought it prudent to purchase a lower priced filter until I got a better feel for what I was doing. The results I got from this filter were phenomenal and I am thinking I will not need to upgrade. The only draw back I can think of would come if I were to compare it to drop in filters and their ease of use. However, I knew this going in and made the decision to forego the drop ins. The build quality for this product was better than expected. I did experience some lens flare as expected since I was facing directly into the sun. With that said I must also mention that the flare was easily managed and actually enhanced the images.Very pleased with this purchase 5it is ok doing its job. not the best but still good 4Junk i was not expecting much in the first place but this variable ND filters is awful.Sunlight produces an awful flare that makes the picture unusable. As you get closer to the ND 400 there is a weird vignetting appearing that turn into a dark X across the picture. 1Nice and strong filter Nice and strong filter. Makes for great long exposure photos. Sometimes can be difficult to remove from the camera, being very slim. 3
